50 food tips from world over

1. Add salt towards the end of the cooking process, as adding it in the beginning increases cooking time. -Rupali Dean, food consultant, writer and photographer

2. When making a whole roast chicken, salt it, then chill it, uncovered, in the fridge for the day. This helps season the bird and dries out the skin so it crisps perfectly when cooked. Remove it from the fridge an hour before you put it in the oven, and add herbs and aromatics. -Amanda Hesser, food blogger, Food52.com

3. When making a veggie juice, use a minimum of three different colours (for instance, a red tomato, spinach and an orange carrot) so that you'll get different varieties of anti-oxidants. -Pooja Makhija, celebrity nutritionist, Mumbai

4. Add a pinch of salt to dark chocolate to make it sweeter. -Rishim Sachdeva, chef, Uzuri, New Delhi

5. To make bananas last longer, wrap them in a brown paper bag and store them in the fridge; the skin will turn black but the bananas will last longer. -Janti Duggal, chef, Mamagoto, New Delhi

6. Store fresh herbs as you would fresh flowers: in a jar of water on your countertop. Pluck off what you need, change the water daily, and they'll last two to three times longer than they would in the fridge. You'll get the most extra mileage from flat-leaf parsley. -Jenny McGruther, food blogger, Nourishedkitchen.com

9. While cooking lentils or chicken, bring them to a boil for some time and separate the froth that accumulates on the top. This is collected dirt that should be removed before one covers the utensil with a lid. -Veena Arora, chef de cuisine, Spice Water Trail The Imperial, New Delhi

10. Don't throw away the peel of vegetables. Let them simmer in hot water and add some peppercorns and bay leaf to make vegetable stock. This stock can be used as a gravy base for dishes instead of plain water. This will add more flavour and nutritional benefits to your gravy. -Kapil Sethi, chef, Cavalli Caffe, New Delhi

11. When cooking brinjal, add a spoon of milk to a bowl of cold water; add the cut brinjal into it. The veggie will retain its colour without turning black. -Neha Malhotra, chef, Welcomhotel Sheraton, New Delhi

12. While cooking rice, add a few drops of lemon juice. The colour of the grains will become bright white. -Neha Malhotra

13. Always crack an egg on a flat surface, and never the edge of a bowl. Otherwise you'll risk shell shards and possible contamination of your food. -Aida Mollenkamp, food blogger, Aidamollenkamp.com

Preferably dry-roast them in the oven (120-140?C) for 3-10 minutes (depending on the spice and quantity-cinnamon for 3 minutes, star anise and black cardamom for 10). Your cue to taking them out: when they begin to release fragrant aromas. If you need to fry them, do so on the lowest heat, for a maximum of 35-40 seconds to avoid burning. -Rekha Kakkar, food photographer, New Delhi

27. Always use the best extra-virgin olive oil you can afford in your pastas, for drizzling into soups, onto a risotto or for salads. Don't pour the extra-virgin olive oil into a hot pan or else it will burn. Heat the pan to a moderate temperature and either use pomace olive oil or drizzle the oil onto your meat, chicken or fish before cooking. -Saby, chef, Olive Bar & Kitchen, New Delhi

28. For a creamy pasta sauce that doesn't require a ton of butter or cheese, toss a room-temperature beaten egg with the hot pasta and a little of the boiling pasta water and stir like crazy (the heat should kill any bacteria). -Cara Eisenpress

29. Store tea in air-tight jars. Buy a little at a time (100-250 g), as tea absorbs moisture, so each time you open the jar you're exposing it, reducing flavour and freshness. -Sanjay Kapur, master tea taster, Sancha Tea, New Delhi

Multiple Ways to Speed up Windows® 7

No doubt Windows 7 is fast, but you can always have more speed. Following Windows 7 tips are suitable for everyone from home users to businesses. 1. Windows 7 only uses one core to boot out of the box. By changing the number of cores used you can reduce the boot time:
STEP 1. Click on Start and then Run
STEP 2. Search for Run and type msconfig
STEP 3. Click on the tab Boot and click on Advanced options
STEP 4. Check Number of processors and enter how many your computer has (usually 2,4 or 8)
STEP 5. Click OK and Apply
STEP 6. Reboot the system.
2. Turning off the Minimize-Maximize animation can make your system faster.
STEP 1. Go to Start and type in SystemPropertiesPerformance.
STEP 2. Go the Visual Effects tab.
STEP 3. Untick Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing and click OK.
3. Fonts, especially TrueType fonts, use lots of system resources. For maximum performance, trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require.
STEP 1. Open Control Panel.
STEP 2. Open Fonts folder.
STEP 3. Move fonts you don’t need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:FONTBKUP?) just in case you. need or want to bring a few of them back. The more fonts you uninstall, the more system resources you will increase.
4. Windows 7 shutdowns quite faster than Windows Vista or Windows XP, but it can be improved further by making this registry change which reduced the time Windows waits to kill processes:
STEP 1. Click on Start and type in regedit and press Enter.
STEP 2. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl.
STEP 3. Right-click on WaitToKillServiceTimeOut and change and lower the value.
STEP 4. The default is 12000 (12 seconds) but you can lower this to any number .
STEP 5. Click OK and reboot machine.
5. If you know where your data are stored, and seldom do a file search,  then the Search Indexing feature is a total waste of time. It uses up quite a lot of resources and is one feature We’d recommend most users disabling:
STEP 1. Click on Start and type in services.msc
STEP 2. Find and right-click Windows Search
STEP 2. In the startup type field choose Disabled
6. Many applications start automatically or start components with Windows, which will slow your bootup times and consume unnecessary resources. These include programs such as Acrobat, Quicktime, iTunes, Java etc. To stop these programs autostarting:
STEP 1. Go to Start and enter msconfig
STEP 2. Click on the startup tab and uncheck anything you are certain you don’t need e.g. don’t untick your Anti-Virus program.
7. Some Windows 7 services use a lot of unnecessary memory, which is particularly bad if you don’t use them. Instead of disabling services, we recommend that you set services you don’t think you need to manual just in case you make a mistake.
STEP 1. Go to Control Panel. Click on Administrative Tools and then click on Services.
STEP 2. Right click on each individual service you want to disable.

All social networks at one place

I find a website where I keep my all social networks as tabs...

CSS Links

CSS has several options for redefining the style of links.

As mentioned in the above table, there are four different selectors with respect to links.

You can specify whatever style you'd like to each of these selectors, just like you'd do with normal text.

The four selectors are:

Defines the style for normal unvisited links.

Defines the style for visited links.

Defines the style for active links.
A link becomes active once you click on it.

Defines the style for hovered links.
A link is hovered when the mouse moves over it.
Note: Not supported by Netscape browsers prior to version 6.

Here you can see a few examples on how CSS can be used to replace the traditional image based mouseover effects for links.

The hover style is not supported by Netscape browsers prior to version 6, but since it does no harm, you can still use it for the benefit of the +90% of visitors that arrive using MSIE).

One of the most common uses of CSS with links is to remove the underline. Typically it's done so that the underline appears only when a hover occurs. In the example below, we did just that. In addition we added a red color for hovered links.

Example: Hover
<style type="text/css">
A:link {text-decoration: none}
A:visited {text-decoration: none}
A:active {text-decoration: none}
A:hover {text-decoration: underline; color: red;}

The link from the above example would look like this:

Another example would be to create links that are both underlined andoverlined.

Example: Underline/Overline
<style type="text/css">
A:link {text-decoration: none}
A:visited {text-decoration: none}
A:active {text-decoration: none}
A:hover {text-decoration: underline overline; color: red;}

The link from the above example would look like this:

A third example would be to create links that change in size
when hovered.

Example: Size changing links
<style type="text/css">
A:link {text-decoration: none}
A:visited {text-decoration: none}
A:active {text-decoration: none}
A:hover {font-size:24; font-weight:bold; color: red;}

The link from the above example would look like this:

A final example would be to create links that have a permanent background color, obviously standing out from the rest.

Example: Background colored links
<style type="text/css">
A:link {background: #FFCC00; text-decoration: none}
A:visited {background: #FFCC00; text-decoration: none}
A:active {background: #FFCC00; text-decoration: none}
A:hover {background: #FFCC00; font-weight:bold; color: red;}

The link from the above example would look like this:

The final topic deals with how to add multiple link styles that can be used on the same page.

In the above examples we addressed the HTML selector - A:link etc - and thus redefined the overall link style.

How do we define a link style that is only active in a certain area of the page?

The answer is: context dependent selectors.

Rather than addressing the A:link selector we will address it while being dependant on a certain outer class that surrounds the area where we'd like our link style to be effective.

For example:
<style type="text/css">
.class1 A:link {text-decoration: none}
.class1 A:visited {text-decoration: none}
.class1 A:active {text-decoration: none}
.class1 A:hover {text-decoration: underline; color: red;}

.class2 A:link {text-decoration: underline overline}
.class2 A:visited {text-decoration: underline overline}
.class2 A:active {text-decoration: underline overline}
.class2 A:hover {text-decoration: underline; color: green;}

<span class="class1">
<a href="http://www.yahoo.com">YAHOO</a>
<a href="http://www.google.com">GOOGLE</a>
<span class="class2">
<a href="http://www.yahoo.com">YAHOO</a>
<a href="http://www.google.com">GOOGLE</a>

Note how we use the <span> to define the context.
This is smart for two reasons:

1) The obvious, that it allows us to use different link styles on
the same page, rather than being limited to using a single
overall link style.

2) We can define entire areas where a certain link style works for all links within that area. Thus, we don't have to add a style definition to each and every link in that area.

How to increase internet speed

I just found this good tips from my ISP. I am sure it works for you.

Here's a simple little thing you can do to increase your bandwidth by at least 20%.

Ok here we go...

1.) log on as Administrator.

2.) start - run - type gpedit.msc

3.) expand "local computer policy"

4.) then expand "administrative templates"

5.) then expand "network branch"

6.) Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler"

7.) on right window double click "limit reservable bandwidth"

8.) on setting tab check the "enabled"

9.) change "Bandwidth limit %" to 0

You're done.It would be a good idea to reboot after this.

Poetry Collection tam_Cham hands well remember

How to add Flash SWF as background of a HTML page?

These are the HTML content.

This tutorial will guide you how to add a Flash SWF file as background of a HTML page.
To embed Flash SWF as background of a web page, there are basically two steps:
 Make the Flash movie transparent.
 Use div and properties z-index, position:absolute and position:relative to make the Flash movie displaying under other contents.
Step 1: Make the Flash movie transparent.
Look for the code that embeds the Flash Movie. It should look similar to this:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="480" height="125">
<param name="movie" value="flashmovie.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src="flashmovie.swf" quality="high" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="125" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
To make the Flash movie background transparent, you need to add the WMODE parameters to the HTML code.
Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
Add the following parameter to the EMBED tag:
After edit, the HTML code should look similar to below. The new changes are shown in red.
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="480" height="125">
<param name="movie" value="flashmovie.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed src="flashmovie.swf" quality="high" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="125"wmode="transparent" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
Step 2: Use div and properties z-index, position:absolute and position:relative to make the Flash movie displaying under other contents.
To make the Flash movie as background, you need to use div layers. A div layer is like a window inside a window, which lets you define an area inside your HTML page.
<div style="width:480px;height:125px;position:relative;">
<div style="position:absolute; z-index:1;">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="480" height="125">
<param name="movie" value="flashmovie.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed src="flashmovie.swf" quality="high" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="125"wmode="transparent" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
<div style="position:relative; z-index:2;">
These are the HTML content.
The z-index is the key property. The smaller the value, the div layer will be lower.

Upload photos to Facebook by pasting the image URL

Here's the step-by-step:

- In your browser, right-click the image you want to upload and select "Copy image URL." (The exact wording may vary on any given browser.)

- Head to Facebook and click Add Photo/Video. Click Upload Photo/Video.

- Click Choose File, and in the dialog box, in the field next to "File name" paste the image URL. Click
  Open, and you're set! All that's left to do is write a clever caption and post the image.
